Extra digit problem with VMC and Dualview

     Hi All

I have just finished setting up my HTPC system and have two last niggles to sort out, maybe somebody can help me out here.

The major issue I have is regarding channel changing on my Dual view decoder. I am using Vista Media Centre and have the Microsoft remote/blaster (USB) setup. No matter what setting I choose (speed/number of digits/decoder model), sometimes when VMC changes the channel on the decoder it seems to add the last digit twice. It does not happen all the time, just every now and then, but is most annoying when the last digit repeated is 0 as this sends the decoder off to the TV guide which then requires the decoder remote to get out of.

I have moved the pickup away from the plasma (some posts hinted to this being a problem), but still have the problem.

The issue does not seem to be that the VMC is sending too many digits as the light only blinks three times, but it looks more like the last digit is sent for too long and gets picked up as "auto repeated" by the decoder. I even tried sending an enter after the channel number, but the decoder was not liking that at all.

I have stuck the blaster head directly onto the decoder face above the pickup and have tried moving it further away as well.

Anybody have any idea what can sort this issue out. It seems to be related to the dual view as mates that have standard single view decoders don't have this problem. Maybe the decoder model in VMC is not quite right...

    Thanks

    Andre

Re: Extra digit problem with VMC and Dualview

    Hi Skidder

Have a look at my post:

Change the keyduration to 50 and go no lower. This seems to solve the skipping problem with the Dualview and I can confirm this is working as I have been using these settings for over a year now with my Dualview. A side advantage is that channel changing is a bit faster.

    Regards

    Bozzy
