    Are there any issues using a 1110 decoder with MCE?

    About to book a DSTV install. Is there any issue using the new 1110 decoder with Vista Media Center?

     Cheers,

     Sam

    I have no idea but I'm very curious to know as I would like to add it to the MCEGuide User's Guide.

    If there is anyone out there using the 1110 decoder on Media Center, please post instructions on setting it up here.

    Thanx!

    Re: Are there any issues using a 1110 decoder with MCE?

    So I set up the system yesterday and have a Hauppage WinTV 500 MCE dual tuner card configured with the Multichoice 1100 Decoder. All is great and have the guide working great and a microsoft mce remote to change channels.

     My only question is how the dual tuners work. Surely I don't need two decoders? Anyone set up a similar system?

     Cheers,

     sam

    Hi Sam

    Unless you've got a dualview decoder, you will need to have two decoders if you want to be able to use both tuners.

    Can you please tell me how did you setup the 1110 decoder to work with MCE?

    Regards

    Franco

    Can anyone tell me how to set up the 1110 decoder to work with Windows Media Center?

    Also, is the Dual View decoder still available on the market?

     Hi Franco,

     I just installed a 1110 decoder onto VISTA media centre after my old DSD910 died.

    I comply connected the decoder to my  PVR-150 capture card and stuck the Microsoft IR blasters in the center of the face plate using clear double sided tape.

    I then ran through the setup wizard and ended up having to teach media center the IR codes as the settings it detected didn't work for changing channels.

     If you have any specific question let me know.

     I spoke too soon, channel changing was not 100% relaible.

     I changed the remote type on the decoder to "new only". And then changed the STB key in the registry as follows.

    Digits 3
    Keyduration = 200
    KeyInterval = 100

    Everything is working very nicely now.

    Re: Are there any issues using a 1110 decoder with MCE?

    Some help please - I have a 1110 decoder and a WinTV-PVR-150 card that I am trying to configure in Windows Vista Media Center.

    I installed the card and driver as per the installation manual. Latest drivers downloaded from the vendor site.I can pick up the satellite chanels on the TV utilty that can came with the TV card. However on this utility the IR Blaster does not work. So I can see the channels and but cannot change them via the MCE Remote. I run the TV configuration wizard in Window Media Center. It goes through the process and detects the signal via the composite ports. Again I can see the Satellite TV channels coming throght, however in the next step it tries to detetc the IR Blaster and after a few minutes it comes up with the following:"Windows Media Center cannot detect your IR Receiver. Make sure that your IR Receiver is detected, and then select Try Again". It does not go pass this step and the entire process has to b cancelled. Any help please.

    Re: Are there any issues using a 1110 decoder with MCE?

    I had a similar problem, but was a simple error on my part. I use the Microsoft MCE remote. The IR device has 2 cords with infrared transmitters on the end. These transmitters need to lie in front of the infrared receiver on the decoder (look inside the red plastic glass section on the decoder and you will se and infrared receiver) so that the remote transmits the instruction to the IR receiver and the receiver transmits the message to the decoders infrared receiver. If the cables and infrared transmitters are not lining up with the decoder's receiver it cannot send the instruction and change the message.

    hope that helps
