My Media Center pc is behaving very strange lately. Usually my pc would resume from sleep at 11:00PM, download the guide and turn to sleep again.

Now it turns on, downloads the guide twice and stays on. I've set it to go to sleep after 15 minutes but it just doesn't want to. The screens does turn off after 10 minutes but the pc stays on. Also under power schemes, if I set my hard drives to turn off after 20 minutes, then it does turn off but after a minute or 2, it turns on again and the cycle just repeats itself over and over again.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium and never had these problems before but lately its really becoming annoying. I don't have a problem with it turning on at night to download the guide. I just don't want to wake up to switch if off again.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Bozzy, the MCE Standby Tool you recommended, works like a charm. I only have two problems with it: Normally while Media Center records a show and I press the power button on the remote, then my pc goes into away mode so that it can continue recording. Now it goes into sleep and to hell with the recording. That's not so cool. Also, my pc wakes up to do the guide updates but the tool puts it into sleep almost immediately. This has the potential to corrupt one of the guides, especially if the pc goes into sleep while the guide is being uploaded to the server.

I've read from a different post that SP1 will fix these power issues. Yay! Can't wait. But in the meantime, the standby tool is really cool!
