    Re: ZAepg suspended!!!

In an attempt to get the guide service stable again, all xmltv files have been removed. The MCEGuide client was also removed and new users will currently be unable to make use of MCEGuide.

If you already downloaded the client, you can install it and try downloading the guide at a later time. If you haven't downloaded the client yet, then I'm afraid you will be left in the dark till the guide service is stable again.

    Regards

[Update : The MCEGuide client is available for download again]

    You get my vote mrbig.

Just returned from overseas and can't believe what those basturds at monchoice have done. Why can't we set a deadline for access to DSTV data and cancel if they don't comply? I am more than willing for the R400 odd I am currently paying I can download 7-8Gb of up-tp-date stuff off bittorrent - in HD nogal!

Son't these a$$holes know their days are numbered. No wonder we're all becoming pirates.

Gonna read to the end of this and try your methods now, thanks for all the hard work.

    Re: ZAepg suspended!!!

Just reinstalled my entire system using vista and am very pleased with the results.

I cannot however get the guide to work. I have installed 2.1 but keep getting an unexpected headend error code 42 when downloading.

Any help would be much appreciated

I didn't get that far. The error appears after having entered 0000 for the postcode

Do the following and tell me what the value in your registry is:

Click on Start > Run and open REGEDIT.

    Navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Media Center>Service>EPG

The "discSvc" string should contain the following value:

    http://www.mceguide.co.za/epg2/GetTVServicesMetaInfo.html

Is there anybody else getting the same error? I've added additional guide service providers this weekend but I tested it just now again and it works fine on my pc. Also, I noticed now that it doesn't matter which postal code I enter, I still get the full list of providers. Should this be happening?

The string is as above. Also entered the url into explorer and got a response, so dns and internet is okay.

Look at the error log in the following folder (it will contain an xml file):

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\EPG\tracehelper

Email me the file to support@mcepg.co.za so that I can have a look at it.
