    What do I need to get MCE 2005 to change the channels on my DSTV.

    Do you have the official MCE remote kit? 

    The official remote comes with the remote control, a USB reciever and 2 remote blasters that plug into the reciever.

    You can use one of the remote blasters to control other devices such as a DSTV decoder.

    You then setup MCE to use a set top box and it will step you through the process to get it setup so that MCE will change the channel on your DSTV decoder when it is required.

    Do you have an MCE Remote control?  The IR reciever that comes with the remote has a little IR trasmitter with it that you position in front of your DSTV decoder.  It will send the correct signals to the decoder to change the channel if needed.

    I don't have the official or a MCE remote kit. Do you know where I can get one from? Do you know if the Logitech MCE remote will come with what I need?

    Yes, that is what you need.  You can usually buy the remote seperately but that is not such a bad price for both.

    I have the keyboard and it compliments my MCE solution nicely.

    I can promise you that getting the official remote makes Media Center about 1000 times better.
