Introducing Recorded TV Manager.

 

Recorded TV Manager provides a familiar and convenient user interface to manage your collection of television programs recorded by Microsoft Media Center Edition (*.dvr-ms files.)  Recorded TV Manager takes advantage of the fact that Media Center is a computer with the familiar "2-foot interface" to provide an alternative to the remote control and Media Center Edition experience for managing a large and constantly changing collection of recorded television programs.

Download the free Recorded TV Manager Beta Software Evaluation pre-release version at http://www.fjdrasch.com/download_manager.htm .  This build is the final beta build of the software and is fully functional and a Release Candidate.  We are offering this free evaluation version to introduce the program to the community and also to get feedback from a larger user base prior to the commercial release of the software.

I'm not sure which new features this software brings to the table, but there is already a (very) excellent utility available to do this task, using the native 10 foot gui within mce. SavedTV.

Well, one of the new features that Recorded TV Manager brings to the table is AutoCopy Rules.  These rules run in the background and automate a variety of file (dvr-ms) management functions.  For example, automatically collecting or moving program episodes from multiple Media Center computers, collecting and watching programs in the order of original air date and eliminating duplicate episode recordings.
